On April 4 in Washington, DC., cCHANGE’s co-founder Karen O’Brien received the 2019 Research Excellence Award from the American Association of Geographers’ Human Dimensions of Global Change Specialty Group.
This award recognizes research contributions that advance our understanding of the human dimensions of global change. Karen was selected for her pioneering work developing the field of climate change adaptation and vulnerability research, and for advancing scholarship around the concept of transformation, which has profoundly influenced human-environment scholarship and the careers of many geographers.
